More great artwork from series artist Emily Evans:

The OHM Dedication Series is designed to allow some of our favourite DJs to share their love of a particular artist, producer or songwriter with you.

#3 is from Ahu, the Turkish singer best known for her work with the likes of Flying Lotus, Mr Beatnick and Grooveman Spot. A close ally of OHM, Ahu released the incredible single “To: Love.”, produced by Paul White, in 2010. Watch the video here.

Blossom Dearie was an American jazz singer who died in 2009. From Ahu: “I love love love her music, especially her lyrics, and think Blossom Dearie is under-rated. I’d like to dedicate this mix to everyone who loves listening to jazz, radio plays and also laughing!”

2 – i’m hip
3 – rhode island is famous for you
4 – boum
5 – i like london in the rain
6 – the shape of things

Ahu – To: Love. (Tightface Remix)

January 16, 2011

The original version of Ahu’s To: Love. is a beautiful, ghostly Paul White production in which mournful synths and a skittering beat offer Ahu a backdrop for her song of the joys of heartache. Now White’s close friend and OHM associate Tightface retools the track with a much tougher edge – if you don’t know [...]

A Medieval History Lesson

October 15, 2010

To: Love.

September 11, 2010

Long tipped as a vocalist to watch, Ahu steps softly from the shadows of her lauded guest appearances to deliver To:Love. It’s a captivating performance from the Turkish singer whose unique style might be found somewhere between traditional soul and the studied remove of the likes of Broadcast’s Trish Keenan. Her long-time friend and musical [...]
